Igor Mitoraj & Andrea Bocelli: Teatro del Silenzio - Lajatico (PI)
Forthcoming exhibition
Overview
Once again, the Tuscan summer is enriched with Music and Art, and the Contini Art Gallery, under the artistic direction of Alberto Bartalini, is honored to renew its participation in an event that represents a true zenith of excellence in the international cultural landscape. On the occasion of the twentieth edition of the Teatro del Silenzio, in collaboration with Atelier Mitoraj, Igor Mitoraj returns as the protagonist of the scenography with the monumental Tindaro Screpolato, blending into the landscape of the Alta Valdera, as if he were born there, offering a powerful and poetic visual reflection on time and identity.
With his unmistakable aesthetic - poised between classicism and fragmentation - Mitoraj’s art, by now among the most authoritative voices in contemporary sculpture, restores the beauty of antiquity through the lens of modernity. The cracks, gashes, and openings that define his style are not signs of decay, but traces of memory: silent testimonies of a past that continues to live on, to transform, to hold meaning.
It is precisely this profound sensibility that makes Mitoraj’s work perfectly aligned with the spirit of the Teatro del Silenzio: a place where voice, art, and landscape merge into a unique aesthetic experience.
