Overview
Igor Mitoraj, Tindaro Screpolato, Teatro del Silenzio, Lajatico (PI)

Once again, the Tuscan summer is enriched with Music and Art. The Contini Art Gallery, with the collaboration of Atelier Mitoraj and under the artistic direction of Alberto Bartalini, is honored to renew its participation in an event that represents absolute excellence in the international cultural panorama.

On the occasion of the twentieth edition of the Teatro del Silenzio, Igor Mitoraj returns as the protagonist of the scenography with the monumental Tindaro Screpolato, fitting in with perfect harmony in the clay hills of the Alta Valdera and offering a powerful and poetic visual reflection on time and identity.

Here, where clay is a noble and predominant material — the same with which the work was created — the summer sun cracks it, making it even more similar to the work itself. With his unmistakable aesthetic, balanced between classicism and fragmentation, the art of Mitoraj - one of the most authoritative interpreters of contemporary sculpture - restores the beauty of the ancient through the filter of contemporaneity. The cracks, tears and openings that characterize his style are not signs of decadence, but traces of memory: silent testimonies of a past that continues to live, to transform itself, to signify. It is precisely this profound sensitivity that makes Mitoraj's work perfectly consistent with the spirit of the Teatro del Silenzio: a place where voice, art and landscape merge in a unique aesthetic experience.
